15 Balaam’s Fourth Oracle. So he took up the oracle and said,

“Balaam, the son of Beor,
    the man whose eyes are open says,
16 The oracle of he
    who has heard the words of God,
    who has knowledge of the Most High,
    who sees the vision of the Almighty,
    who falls down with his eyes open:
17     [a]I see him, but not now.
    I behold him, but not near.
A star comes forth from Jacob,
    and a scepter rises out of Israel.
He will crush the brow of Moab,
    he will destroy the children of Seth.
